capturing Water droplets with flash and 100mm macro lens

From am really wet right now

Not too happy with my previous effort of getting water droplets using a fast shutter and a macro lens, i decided to change my location and also the camera settings to get some good macro shots of water droplets .

Few pointers of what i did that day
  • was Listening to some classic Black Sabbath
  • decided to convert my boring bathroom into a macro studio
  • colored plastic cups was used to get the green light effect
  • i used the 60D camera pop up flash and not any other external flash
  • shutter speed was constant at 1/250 sec
  • manual focus only
  • had to time my shots perfectly to capture the droplet and using flash really helped in capturing some really fine details
what amazes me is that every shot is totally different and the shapes taken by the water droplets changes everytime from an ice berg, to cyclops, to a fist or just a water crown.
