The Pune Dairies - Day 5 and 6 - Inkarnation Tattoo

Sidhanth Nigam - incredibly talented guy and one of the nicest , down to earth people i have ever met. another round of thanks goes to Colin of the 3 Hungry men and his sister Shereen for introducing me to him.

Inkarnation studio, situated on Senapati Bapat road, is a tiny room that has really loud extreme metal music playing in the background when Mr. Sid is working , either on sketches or tattooing people.

i always wanted to get an Iron Maiden tattoo, as its my all time fav band and probably the only reason why i am alive today and also probably the only reason i am a musician. (started listening to Maiden was i was 5 years old in 1985 and picked up playing the guitar when i was 8! is my all time fav story as well)

deciding to settle for an iron maiden tattoo is a daunting task as every piece of art work from the maiden stable has been nothing short of a master piece. i selected "Purgatory" from their 1981 album  Killers as it is one of my fav tracks, and it also symbolises a state in which death of a physical being can lead to either heaven or hell. for me the "in betweens" is Purgatory.

anyways.

it felt like purgatory, sitting through 8 hours of excruciating pain, as i had to turn around and sit with Sid facing my back all the times. i paid him Rs 24,000/- for this and it was bloody worth it! started tattooing me at around 5:30 pm and we finished at 1:30 am! he and his friends later dropped niki and me back to the lodge!

will be paying another visit , very soon!
