Hae Kum Gang - Korean Restaurant in Bangalore

Korean cuisine is an acquired taste. if u Like Japanese food, then in all probability you will also like Korean food. one doesn't really have to travel to Korea to experience their cuisine and we were fortunate to visit Hae Kum Gang, located at Castle Street, near Brigade Road, Bangalore,.

loads of photos, thats the very first thing that catches the eyes along with certifications from well known foodie sites like zomato and burrrp.
the interiors was surprisingly very simple and the music system was playing some Korean pop music. the place was almost full by the time we left the place and the patrons were mostly Korean folk living in Bangalore.

The Food!
my fiancé is crazy about Korean food. specifically Kimchi. TLC is her fav tv channel and she would glue herself to the monitor whenever some Korean dish would be mentioned. If thats not enough, she would then youtube Korean cuisine. this was the best place for her. she totally enjoyed every bit of whatever was on the table.

cuttle fish tentacles or squid perhaps

and these were just the starters which accompanies the main course

SautĂ©ed potatoes

Kimchi
Beef Bulgogi

Beef Bulgogi thinly sliced beef marinated in spicy sauce served as a sizzler

Beef Bulgogi with Tuna Kimbap
Pricing : not cheap, not too expensive, just right. the average cost of any full meal here is well over Rs 350/- but the portions are quite large and the food is very good. i was guilty of gulping down 2 tall glasses of Iced Tea (Rs 100/- each) so my tummy was pretty much full before digging into the Beef Bulgogi.

I highly recommend the place to anyone who would love to try out something new. place is ideal for people who love large portions and best to be here with a group of friends or family. total paisa vasool.

however , if u are not sure about Korean food, at least make an effort to know a little about their cuisine and Please dont be like the young couple who sat across our table wondering what to order as none of the dishes in the menu was familiar to them.

for the camera geeks : i used 5D Mark III with Canon EF 24 to 70 mm f 2.8 L USM lens for the wide angle shots and Canon EF 50 mm f 1.2 L USM for the food shots.
