Katpady Village shot using ND filter on canon EF 24 to 105 mm f 4 L IS wide angle

Katpady is a tiny village hamlet near Udupi in Karnatata and its also the ancestral home of my future In Laws.
the name is Tulu language means "Kattu Paadi" which in english translates to "Tie it down"

i have no idea what needs to be tied down and where, but it was another great day to shoot photos with my canon 60D along with EF 24 to 105 mm f 4 L is glass with ND4X filter.

The greens look greener and the blues look bluer. thats the best part in ND filters. They dont really increase the color of the place, just control the exposure, so u get those clear and colorful images without the unwanted light.

i got the pleasure of taking a ride on the boat. it was pretty scary, esp if u dont know how to swim and i kept concentrating on keeping my balance and not falling over. also got a chance to see one of the local sand miners take his load of sand to the river banks.

If u notice the photo u can see a bucket and a small step ladder on the boat. the bucket is used to scoop the sand from the river beds. the guy dives under water, scoops the sand in the bucket and unloads it on to his boat. he does this till the boat is filled with sand. in case the water is a bit too deep, he then uses a step ladder to unload the sand.
after a hard hours work, he sells the sand to the trucks which are waiting for him at the rover banks. he earns about 400 bucks per load. and in a day he makes around 5 to 10 such trips...all hard work
